About Aero C-104S aircraft

Go aheadCextracting text from the yellow box...

The last biplane mass-produced in Czechoslovakia. The Aero factory produced very successful Bücker Bü 131 D Jungmann biplanes during World War II. Some remained there after the war and others were built after the liberation with the designation C-4, i.e. with original German Hirth HM 504 engines. A total of 20 C-4s were built. In 1946, a Czechoslovakian Walter Minor 4-III engine of 77 kW (105 hp) was installed in the C-4 airframe. This version, initially designated C-4A, later C-104, was widely used.

A total of 260 of these machines were produced until 1949. Both types, the C-4 and especially the C-104, were first used by the Czechoslovak Military Air Force for basic and continuing pilot training and were gradually transferred to aeroclubs. In 1960 and 1961, C-104s also entered the international aviation record table. The importance of these machines for the training of Czechoslovak military and sport pilots was considerable. Some of them are still in airworthy condition today.

The Aero C-104 (OK-RXE), serial No. 237 is owned by the Aviation Museum of the Military Historical Institute Prague and is operated by the TMFC family collection.
